Orphan Hosting Program Summer 2012

What is hosting?

Hosting is a wonderful opportunity to welcome an orphaned child into your home for four to six weeks. During that time, families will love and care for an orphan child who perhaps has only known loneliness and abandonment. It is also a once in a lifetime opportunity for them to see American life, learn English, and know the love of a family. This has proven to give these children hope and to change their life and future. The children that participate in our hosting programs are orphaned boys and girls between the ages of 6 to 15 and are from Ukraine. Hosting is open nationwide.

Hosting costs

The cost to host is approximately $2500 per child and is 100% tax deductible. The money covers the cost of visas, passports, medical insurance, plane tickets, Ukraine travel and coordination, and much more.

What do I need to host?

␣␣ If there is a child you are interested in hosting, e-mail Ginger to put on hold.

␣␣ Mini home study and home safety visit by licensed social worker

␣␣ Fingerprint clearances and child abuse clearances

␣␣ Deposit: $1000 nonrefundable tax deductible deposit to hold

␣␣ Pay balance of $1500

␣␣ Attend online training webinar.

␣␣ Join the Yahoo group to connect with

families and get access to great resources!

␣␣ The deadlines for hosting will be around

the first week of May.

Schedule for summer

Summer hosting will be approximately 5 to 6 weeks long beginning in mid-to-late June and ending sometime in August.

Who Can Host?

Married couples, singles, families with and without children.

What types of children can be hosted?

␣␣ Healthy children age 5-16

␣␣ Sibling groups of 2,3, or 4 children

and single children with no siblings.

␣␣ Special needs children

␣␣ Some children which are not adoptable but who can benefit from being hosted.

␣␣ Orphans "age out" of their institutions at 16 years old

␣␣ 60% of girls end of in prostitution

␣␣ 70% of boys enter a life of crime

␣␣ 10-15% will commit suicide within 2 years of leaving their institution.

On Thursday morning, I woke up to email!! A little note from the boys that would bring a smile to all our faces! I thought I would share it with all of you who visit! This is what it looked like... exactly what I thought too. :) ... Whoa! Then of course I was squealing with delight, excited to know what it said.

Добрий день! Вадим І Валерій попросили написати Вам листа. Вони стоять поряд і передають Вам великий привіт! Запитують, як Ваші справи? Кажуть, що дуже сумують за Вами і якщо, їх запросять до Америки то хотіли б їхити лише до Вас. У них в школі все добре, гарно навчаються, стараннно готують домашні завдання. Валерій запитує чи приїдете ви до них у гості в Україну? З найкращими побажаннями, Вадим Валерій.

Vadim and Valera asked us to write you a letter. They are standing by me and ask to say you "Hi". They ask how are you doing? They say they really miss you and if they will be invited to America again, they'd like to go only to your home. Boys are doing good, they study really well and do their home works in the best way. Valera's asking if you'll visit them in Ukraine?Best regards from Vadim and Valera.

I really want to go to them, and hug and kiss them but now is not the time. Dawson is still to young and the funds God is providing we feel are for the adoption. We are ecstatic to tell you we have saved, raised and been handed the funds to start our dossier! We are thrilled to tell you that in 7 weeks and 4 days GOD has provided $8,000! This is an amazing journey, I can only say that living by faith is incredible! I can't get enough of it! I want to strive to be better at it. We're praising our Heavenly Father for providing for us and these precious boys! For those who are worried about the finances, God favors adoption! He WILL provide for His children through adoption. Why wouldn't He, He adopted each of us! We are His children. I'm SO excited.

It's been 67 days since we saw them in person last. Three months until summer hosting. :) What is SO amazing and encouraging is our son Bryce, he asked to sell some of his toys to bring them home faster. He also encouraged me not to let anyone run into our car, because then we would need to use money to fix our car and he said, "then it would take forever". I'm so blessed to see his heart for the Lord. He is becoming more like Christ each day and it makes my heart sing a song, a beautiful song.

Thank you!! Each of you for supporting us!! Prayers are continually needed. We want God's will in our lives and the lives of our children. Your prayer and support is so encouraging.

A wonderful Christian Ukrainian woman came and taught me and two host moms how to make Borscht. This was SO much fun and all the food was delicious! I could eat it every day. I'm so thankful for the ladies I have met through this process and how hosting two children orphaned by circumstance is changing my life!

PHONE CALL!

I just wanted to update you on our connection with the boys! This last Tuesday I got the privileged of chatting with them for 3 minutes on the phone!!!! YAY! I know it doesn't sound like a long conversation with two people BUT it was worth every precious second!

They were so excited even before they were handed the phone. I loved hearing their voices. They were handing the phone back and forth, and so happy to hear my voice. They asked me if we were in Washington and if Chris was at work, they also said they loved us and thank you.

I loved that little tiny conversation and it motivates me to keep pushing forward. They are alive and well, BUT they need a family! So we're working hard to pursue them! Thank you for your support and prayers! Keep up the good work friends!

Moving Right Along

Hi there everyone, just wanted to come on real quick and update you all on our progress.

We've had our first home study visit and are working on gathering paperwork. We've been saving and raising money like mad men and God has provided and Blessed our efforts. We feel that the doors are wide open for us at this point in the game and we're running full speed toward the finish line. We've seen many pictures and have had updates on how the boys are doing. We have only heard wonderful things. Their faces are so refreshing to see and it keeps us focused on the goal. Thank you for your prayers and support. We're so excited to be sharing this experience with you!
